The role
The role is for an Aurora PostgreSQL Administrator at a technology company in Bengaluru. The work is full-time and in the office. You will look after production PostgreSQL databases that run on AWS Aurora, and you will be part of the team that keeps them fast, available and secure.
On a normal day you will check database performance, find and fix bottlenecks, and tune queries and settings so that data access stays quick. You will set up and manage high availability, build monitoring that tracks performance, availability and health, and manage privileges for local and remote objects. You will also plan and carry out database migrations to AWS, and handle conflicts that come up in replication. The role includes 24/7 on-call support for production databases.
We are looking for someone with 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience. You should have strong PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL skills, Linux installation and administration, and experience with AWS cloud database migration. Good knowledge of storage is needed. A PostgreSQL or AWS certification is a plus. You should be able to work with minimal guidance, learn quickly, and solve problems with a clear, analytical approach.
